Intermountain offers several programs for medical post-graduate professionals. Qualified candidates can complete medical residencies and fellowships in several Intermountain facilities across the Mountain West.

Our pharmacy residency program offers 12 months of comprehensive postgraduate training through rotations at multiple sites, offering several different PGY1 and PGY2 residencies that help our residents reach their full potential.

At Primary Children's Hospital, we believe that nurses entering the specialty field of pediatrics require a unique skillset rooted in knowledge and critical thinking to achieve competence in a supportive environment.

Program provides novice nurses with the opportunity to build competence and confidence, while strengthening skills and transitioning into the role of the professional registered nurse

Internships & other training programs

Earn while you learn in our full-time, paid surgical technology apprenticeship program at LDS Hospital.

Child Life Services are provided at eight hospitals — two free-standing children's hospital and six community hospitals. Only one application is needed to apply for all intermountain hospitals.

The Intermountain Health Child Life Practicum pre-internship experience is an observational experience offered through the Mountain West's premier healthcare system.

The APA-accredited Psychology Internship adheres to a scholar-practitioner model, preparing doctoral-level interns for clinical practice. Interns are involved in training activities on two Salt Lake City campuses.

Primary Children's Hospital offers a competitive and challenging internship for students completing their undergraduate degrees in music therapy.

Intermountain Health offers full-time, paid medical assistant apprenticeships in Denver, Colorado and Salt Lake City, Utah. The 10-month long program prepares apprentices to sit for the CCMA exam and interview for a permanent MA role.

Administrative fellowship

Intermountain Health offers a competitive postgraduate administrative fellowship to select graduates from accredited Master’s programs in healthcare administration (MHA), business administration with an emphasis in healthcare (MBA), and public health (MPH).

Fellows receive exposure to the breadth of Intermountain's integrated delivery system and increase their understanding of management in a dynamic healthcare setting through participation in a wide variety of projects, meetings, and other professional experiences. Fellows gain these experiences in various settings, including the system office, rural/urban hospitals, clinics, and within our healthcare insurance provider, SelectHealth.
