Organized Healthcare Arrangements

INTERMOUNTAIN HEALTH – ORGANIZED HEALTH CARE ARRANGEMENTS

Intermountain participates in multiple Organized Health Care Arrangements (OHCA).  Some of these OHCAs involve only internal Intermountain entities subject to the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), including healthcare providers and insurers.  Others involve external healthcare providers and insurers in the communities Intermountain serves.

The reason Intermountain participates in these OHCAs is to allow for joint activities between the participants that support the delivery and management of high quality, innovative, and cost-effective care.

Your protected health information (PHI) may be shared between OHCA participants without your authorization when necessary to support joint healthcare operations and only when permitted by federal and state law.

List of OHCAs:

Medical Staff OHCA: Intermountain’s hospitals and surgery centers, together with the providers who have privileges as part of the medical staff at the hospitals and surgery centers provide services in Intermountain facilities to support a simplified patient experience as a clinically integrated care system where people may receive care from more than one provider. For more information about Intermountain Health hospitals and surgery centers, visit the Locations resources on our website.
